February 15 (SeeNews) - The Romanian arm of German-based manufacturer of high-end domestic appliances Miele said on Tuesday that its turnover increased by an annual 28% to 80 million lei ($18 million/ 16 million euro) in 2021.
The best sold products for Miele Romania in 2021 were washing machines, vacuum cleaners and kitchen appliances, the company said in a press release.
The Covid-19 pandemic affected the behavior of consumers this year, who continued to spend a lot of time at home, and were willing to invest in appliances. This has resulted in an increase in demand for Miele's premium appliances, the company said.
Miele's online shop in Romania registered increases in visitor traffic and a higher volume of orders, as local interest for online purchases grew considerably.
Over the past year, the company opened a new showroom in Craiova following a 90,000 euro investment. In 2022, the company plans to expand its store network.
Miele is present in Romania since 2007 and operates eight stores locally.
Globally, Miele has 20,900 employees and is present in 100 countries through its own sales subsidiaries or through distributors and importers.
