December 11 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in October dropped by 5.2% on the year to 42,383 after falling by an annual 1.3% a month earlier, data of the country's Statistics Office showed on Friday.
In October, tourist overnights dropped by an annual 2.1% to 101,668 with foreigners accounting for 54,394 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
A total of 532,400 tourists visited Macedonia in the first 10 months of 2009, down by 1.5% on the year. Overnights decreased by an annual 5.6% to 1,984,352 over the same peiod.
