SKOPJE (Macedonia), July 28 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's government has approved a revision to the state budget for this year, raising the projected deficit to 3.9% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), the finance ministry said on Monday.
The revision mostly aims to provide 1.43 billion denars ($31.4 million/23.2 million euro) in additional funding for Corridor X motorway projects, the finance ministry said in a statement without elaborating.
Macedonia's 2014 state budget sets deficit at 3.5% of GDP.
The government expects higher economic growth this year, of a real 3.5%, the statement quoted finance minister Zoran Stavreski as saying on Saturday, a day after the government approved the budget revision.
Macedonian economy expanded by a real 3.1% in 2013.
The revised budget plan is pending approval in parliament.
