SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 28 (SeeNews) – Macedonian insurance company Sigma said it has changed its name to Winner (www.winner.mk) to reflect its ownership, local privately-run news agency Makfax (www.makfax.com.mk) reported on Wednesday.
Sigma was acquired by Austrian insurer Wiener Staedtische, part of Vienna Insurance Group, for 368.5 million denars ($8.9 million/6.0 million euro) earlier this year.
Winner - Vienna Insurance Group AD Skopje (formerly Sigma AD Skopje), set up in 2002, has around 20 offices across Macedonia.
A total of 12 insurance companies operate in the country of two million people.
Vienna Insurance Group is active in 23 countries. Across southeast Europe it also operates in Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Albania.
