- The creditors of Icelandic fund Milestone Group, which is in a bankruptcy procedure, are selling the fund’s stake of 92.18% in Macedonian bank Stater Banka Kumanovo. Several European and U.S. investment funds are Milestone’s creditors, to which the Icelandic group, which was hit hard by the global economic crisis, owes hundreds of million euro. Milestone bought Stater Banka in 2007. The bank's capital was estimated at some 9.8 million euro at the end of 2008. Stater Banka ended last year with a loss of some 175,000 euro.
UTRINSKI VESNIK
- The Macedonian government spent some 10 million euro on media campaigns and advertisements last year, according to the State Audit Office.
KANAL 5
- Macedonian paper producer Hartija Kocani, located in the eastern town of Kocani, will start using biomass for producing electricity and heating energy for its own needs as of next year.
