PRISTINA (Kosovo), March 23 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 9.0% year-on-year to 227.4 million euro ($243.1 million) in February, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports increased by 49% to 35.9 million euro in February, while imports increased by 13% to 263.3 million euro, the Agency of Statistics said in a monthly economic report.
Kosovo's main export destinations in February were Albania, North Macedonia and Switzerland. Base metals, plastic products, as well as food, beverages and tobacco were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, food, beverages and tobacco as well as machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in February. Most of the imports originated in Germany, Turkey and China.
