PRISTINA (Kosovo), November 6 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's insurance companies posted a net profit of 2.1 million euro ($2.4 million) at the end of September, down from 3.2 million euro a year earlier, central bank figures showed on Tuesday.
Kosovo insurers' gross written premiums increased to 69.1 million euro in September from 65.9 million euro a year earlier, according to monthly data published by the central bank.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance totalled 66.9 million, up from 64.0 million euro, while life insurance premiums increased to 2.2 million euro from 1.9 million euro.
Total gross claims paid decreased to 31.5 million euro from 32.4 million euro at the end of September 2017.
The assets held by Kosovo insurance companies increased to 181.0 million euro as at the end of September, from 173.1 million euro a year earlier.
The figures comprise data for 15 insurance companies operating in Kosovo.
