May 9 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's insurance companies fell to 100,000 euro ($111,978) at the end of March, from 400,000 euro a year earlier, central bank figures showed.
Kosovo insurers' gross written premiums increased to 21.8 million euro from 21.2 million euro at the end of March 2018, according to data published by the central bank on Wednesday.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance rose to 21.0 million euro from 20.5 million euro a year earlier, while life-insurance premiums slightly increased to 900,000 euro from 700,000 euro.
Total gross claims paid increased to 12.4 million euro from 12.1 million euro.
The assets held by Kosovo insurance companies totalled 181.0 million euro at the end of March, up from 175.5 million euro a year earlier.
The figures comprise data for 15 insurance companies operating in Kosovo.
