PRISTINA (Kosovo), May 10 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 25.6 million euro ($31.1 million) in the first three months of 2021, compared with a profit of 21.7 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks grew 7.7% year-on-year to 3.3 billion euro at the end of March, the central bank said in a monthly report on Friday.
Deposits expanded by 15% on the year, reaching 4.4 billion euro at the end of March.
The Kosovo banking system had total assets of 5.4 billion euro at the end of March, up from 4.7 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets rose to 2.2% from 2.1%, whereas return on equity increased to 19.2% from 18.7%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 11 banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
