PRISTINA (Kosovo), May 21 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 21.7 million euro ($23.8 million) in the first three months of 2020, from 19.1 million euro in the same period of last year, the country's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks grew 10% year-on-year to 3.08 billion euro at the end of March, the central bank said in a monthly report on Wednesday.
Deposits expanded by 13.6% on the year, reaching 3.84 billion euro at the end of March.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets totalled 4.7 billion euro at the end of March, up from 4.2 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets rose to 2.1% from 1.8%, whereas return on equity increased to 18.7% from 14.9%.
The figures comprise the financial results of ten banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
