May 9 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector rose to 19.1 million euro ($21.4 million) in the first quarter, from 17.9 million euro in the like period of last year, Kosovo's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 11.4% year-on-year to 2.8 billion euro at the end of March, the central bank said in a monthly report on Wednesday.
Deposits increased by 10.1%, reaching 3.38 billion euro at the end of March.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 4.2 billion euro as at the end of March from 3.9 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 1.8%, from 2.1%. Return on equity also dropped - to 14.9% from 16.6%.
The figures comprise the financial results of ten Kosovo banks. The largest by assets among them are Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank.
