October 19 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of commercial banks in Kosovo reached 1.265 billion euro ($1.89 billion) at the end of August, up by 12.5% from a year earlier, Kosovo’s central bank said.
At the end of 2008, the banks' loan portfolio totalled 1.183 billion euro, up by 33% from the end of 2007.
Deposits in Kosovo banks amounted to some 1.6 billion euro at the end of August, up by 17.8% from a year earlier, the bank said in its monthly report.
