September 20 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian unit of Danish bedding and furniture retailer JYSK said that it opened on Thursday its first store in the city of Vidin, its 23rd in Bulgaria.
The company intends to open two more stores in northern Bulgaria by the end of year, JYSK Bulgaria said in a statement.
Last month, the company opened four new stores - one each in the cities of Sofia, Varna, Dobrich and Plovdiv.
At the time, JYSK Bulgaria said it intends to increase the number of its stores to 32 by the end of next year.
The company's strategy envisages having an average of 5 stores in the largest cities in Bulgaria.
JYSK entered the Bulgarian market in 2005 and currently operates 18 stores in 13 cities in the country, employing over 200 people.
JYSK Bulgaria ended its fiscal year 2016/2017 started on October 1 with a pre-tax profit of 1.27 million levs ($752,600/649,300 euro).
