SKOPJE (Macedonia), May 5 (SeeNews) – Italian company Ital TVT is considering investing 15 million euro ($22 million) in a wholesale distribution center for farm produce in southern Macedonia, the Skopje-based Economic Chamber said on Thursday.
Ital TVT representatives have already met with officials from the Vasilevo municipality and have shown interest in the acquisition of land there for the project, the Economic Chamber said in a statement.
The municipality will soon call a public auction to sell a state-owned land plot with an area of some 11 hectares, its mayor Vanco Stojanov said in the same statement.
The center will be equipped with state-of-the-art refrigeration, packaging and transportation systems for the distribution of agricultural products, it said.
This would be the second such facility in Macedonia. Croatia’s Agrokor is developing a similar project near the southern city of Strumica that is expected to become operational next month.
Ital TVT (www.italtvt.it) is focused on the installation and production of industrial refrigeration and cold storage solutions.
