June 18 (SeeNews) - Indian gaming and sports media platform Nazara Technologies said it has agreed to invest 200 million rupees ($2.69 million/2.26 million euros) to buy a 69.82% stake in Turkish games marketing agency Arrakis Tanitim Organizasyon Pazarlama San.Tic. Ltd. Sti., or Publishme.
The deal is seen to expand Nazara’s international footprint in the freemium segment, the Indian firm noted in a press release published Thursday.

Publishme is a full-service games marketing and publishing agency that works extensively with gaming publishers in Turkey and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It counts among its clients Nvidia, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, Hesgames, Mastercard and Turkcell, according to its website.
Nazara is focused on interactive gaming, esports and gamified learning ecosystems. The company is present in India and across emerging and developed markets such as Africa and North America. It owns IPs such as WCC and CarromClash in mobile games, Kiddopia in gamified learning, NODWIN and Sportskeeda in esports and esports media, and Halaplay and Qunami in skill-based, fantasy and trivia games.
The Turkish firm will now join the ‘Friends of Nazara’ network - a group of companies in which the Indian firm holds majority stakes. This network already houses esports-focused Nodwin Gaming and SportsKeeda, World Cricket Championship’s (WCC) developer Next Wave Multimedia, and gamified learning app Kiddopia’s developer Paper Boat Apps.
