November 19 (SeeNews) - Turkey's General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) has signed a contract for the construction and operation the third Istanbul airport project with IGA (Istanbul Grand Airport) Havalimani Isletme A.S., DHMI said Tuesday.
IGA Havalimani Isletme is the joint entity set up by the consortium of local construction firms Cengiz Insaat, Limak Insaat, Mapa Insaat, Kolin Insaat and Kalyon Insaat, for the airport project, DHMI said in a statement on its website.
The consortium won the government tender for the airport's construction and a 25-year lease with a 22.152 billion euro ($29.925 billion) bid in May. On May 20, the consortium and DHMI signed an initial agreement on the project, DHMI said.
