November 5 (SeeNews) - The operating income of Globul, the Bulgarian unit of Greek mobile phone operator Cosmote, fell by five percent year-on-year to 65.1 million euro ($96.9 million) in the first nine months of 2009, Cosmote's owner, OTE, said on Thursday.
Globul's total customer base at the end of September was 3.965 million, down from 4.019 million a year earlier, Greek telecoms group OTE said in a financial report for the January-September period.

Cosmote group total operating income fell by 11% on the year to 488.6 million euro through September and its nine-month OIBDA fell by 3.6% to 824.7 million euro. The group's total revenue fell by 6.5% year-on-year to 2.3 billion euro in the first nine months of 2009. Its total customer base reached 21.4 million at the end of September.
Cosmote also operates units in Greece, Albania, Romania and Macedonia.
