September 9 (SeeNews) - German generic drugs producer Stada said on Monday it is establishing an IT shared service center in Serbia that will provide intracompany services.
In future, the Stada Group will bring together a significant portion of its IT services in its own shared service center in Serbia and, through the elimination of external consulting, will save a substantial share of the previous costs, Stada said in a statement.
The German drug maker will establish a company specifically for this purpose, Stada IT Solutions, which will be a part of its Serbian unit Hemofarm.
Approximately 85 employees at the Hemofarm locations in Vrsac and Belgrade will be focused primarily on the implementation of SAP and Microsoft projects and the corresponding support for the entire Group.
"With Stada IT Solutions we have found a way to save millions every year whilst at the same time not just safeguarding jobs but also creating new ones," Stada Group CEO Angela Weisenberger said in the statement.
From 2014, Stada Group will realize net cost savings of over 2.0 million euro ($2.6 million) in the IT budget, based on the present workload and cost volumes while from 2015 it expects to make annual savings of significantly more than 3.0 million euro, Weisenberger added.
