January 19 (SeeNews) - German foldable containers maker KTP Kunststoff Palettentechnik (KTP) has acquired a majority stake in Slovenian packaging solutions provider K2 Pak, Frankfurt-based investment company VR Equitypartner, a minority shareholder in KTP, said.
KTP has acquired the stake to strengthen the business area around the inner packaging of the transport boxes and to continue its long-term growth strategy, VR Equitypartner said in a statement on Wednesday.

Managing director Marco Krmac will keep a minority stake in K2 PAK, VR Equitypartner said.
"With the acquisition of K2 Pak, KTP is continuing its successful growth story: after the strong expansion of production capacities, the ongoing diversification from the automotive sector into other sectors, and the successful internationalisation, the acquisition of K2 PAK is a real game changer," Christian Futterlieb, managing director at VR Equitypartner, said in the statement.
K2 Pak, based in Koper, is a developer and supplier of advanced industrial reusable packaging solutions made to protect components during transport.
