April 28 (SeeNews) - German industrial weighing and labeling machines manufacturer Bizerba plans to invest 33 million euro ($40 million) in the construction of a factory in Valjevo, western Serbia, local media reported.
"During the three-year investment period, the level of investment is expected to be around 70 million euro and about 800 new workers will be employed," Vecernje Novosti daily quoted Jasna Micic, urbanism director at Valjevo city government, as saying on Tuesday.
The factory will be built in the Goric industrial zone near Valjevo and will will initially employ 305 people.
Bizerba had expressed interest in investing in a factory for retail scales and industrial components in Valjevo, Vecernje Novosti said.
The German company has about 4,300 employees and operates factories in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and the U.S.
