October 11 (SeeNews) - German development bank KfW will extend a 50 million euro ($53 million) soft loan to Albania to finance improvements to the country's water supply and severage systems under an agreement signed by the two governments, the German embassy in Tirana said.
Germany will also provide Albania with a 3 million euro grant for accompanying measures, the embassy said in a social media post last week.
German ambassador to Albania Karl Bergner said during a news conference that the grant will mostly address technical assistance and capacity building.
The German government has already backed water supply enhancement and wastewater management projects benefiting more than one million Albanians, the embassy noted.
