TIRANA (Albania), April 19 (SeeNews) - Albania's transport ministry said on Wednesday it has signed financial agreements worth about 47 million euro ($50.4 million) with Germany and Switzerland to back water supply and sewerage projects in eight cities.
The investment will make it possible for the towns of Delvina, Kucova, Berat, Gjirokastra, Lushnja, Prrenjas, Kamzez and Librazhd to be supplied with water 24 hours a day, transport minister Sokol Dervishaj said on Tuesday when the agreements were signed, according to a statement from the ministry.
The German government will participate with 35 million euro loan and a 2 million euro grant, whereas the Swiss government will back the projects with a grant of 10.4 million euro, according to Albanian state news agency ATA.
