June 8 (SeeNews) - Austrian transport and logistics services provider Gebruder Weiss said that it will invest 20 million euro ($21.4 million) in a new logistics hub in Popesti Leordeni, in southern Romania.
The logistics hub will have an area of 17,000 sq m and will be built on a land plot of 70,000 sq m, Gebruder Weiss said in a press release on Thursday.
"The surface of the land is generous, and this allows us to expand the area of storage and cross-docking in the medium and long term, depending on the opportunities in the market and the needs of our customers," Viorel Leca, general director of Gebruder Weiss Romania, said.
Around 90 people will work at the new facilities.
Gebruder Weiss has been present in Romania since 1994. It owns local logistics hubs in Bucharest, Arad, Sibiu, Cluj, Bacau, Brasov, Constanta, and Craiova.
