March 15 (SeeNews) - The Funderbeam SEE platform, which provides cross-border services to investors and startups, is expanding its services to Slovenia, the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) said on Wednesday.
Funderbeam SEE was established last October as a joint stock company by the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) and Estonia's Funderbeam Ventures OU to support companies in all stages of their development.
"The Ljubljana Stock Exchange decided to expand the Funderbeam SEE platform to Slovenia because Slovenia is a country of many successful young enterprises, whose successful entrepreneurial story often hinges on capital", LJSE said in a bourse filing.
The platform allows companies to raise capital required for their growth in the early stages of their development. Trade in their shares can start immediately after the initial phase – in the same way as if they were listed on a stock exchange.
"It is our wish that startups are ready to operate in the environment in which they were established and that they become the driving force of the economy in decades to come", the LJSE noted. "Through this innovative model of raising capital we will support the development of their business ideas and enable professional investors to participate and invest in those enterprises whose success they believe in."
In the first stage the Funderbeam SEE platform will be accessible in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. Expansion to the entire region is expected later.
