TIRANA (Albania), December 27 (SeeNews) – The total number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the first 11 months of 2018 increased by 16.2% year-on-year to 5.6 million, the country's statistical office, INSTAT, said.
The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation increased by 16.9% to 2.7 million in the period under review, INSTAT said in a statement earlier this week.
The largest number of international visitors came from Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Italy and Montenegro, while visitors from Poland registered the sharpest year-on-year increase, of 34.5%, in the January-November period, followed by Italy with 21.6%.
In the month of November alone, Albania was visited by 246,678 foreign nationals, down 3.7% year-on-year. Of the total, 71,644 came for recreational purposes, up 30.5% compared to November 2017.
