March 26 (SeeNews) - A total of 352,682 foreign tourists visited Slovenia in the first two months of 2024, up 3.7% year-on-year, the state statistical office said, citing provisional data.
Overnight stays by foreign tourists increased by 1.4% on the year to 922,284 in January-February, the statistical office said in a statement on Monday.
The number of domestic tourists grew by 3.7% to 352,682, taking the total number of tourists to 571,722, up 2.2% compared to January-February 2023.
Overnight stays by domestic tourists totalled 654,824 in the first two months of 2024, down 1.3% on the year. The overall number of tourist overnights in the review period totalled 1,577,108, up 0.3%.
In February alone, 176,729 foreign tourists visited Slovenia, up 8.2% year-on-year. Overnight stays by foreign tourists grew by 5.8% to 450,809.
In February, most overnight stays were made by foreign tourists from Croatia, accounting for 22.1% of the total, followed by Italy with 11.2%.
