October 27 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Montenegro in September was 47.3% higher on the year at 126,632, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The total number of tourists who stayed in the country in September increased by an annual 46% to 140,657, the statistical office said in a statement.
Total tourist overnights grew to 532,975 in September from 395,053 in the same month of 2021, with overnights spent by foreign tourists accounting for over 74% of all.
Visitors from Serbia accounted for 19% of all overnights in September, followed by tourists from Germany with a 10.2% share, the United Kingdom with 8.2%, France with 7.9%, and Israel with 5.8%.
As much as 88.6% of all overnight stays were spent at seaside resorts, followed by the country's capital Podgorica with 7.3%, mountain resorts with 2.4% and other resorts with 1.7%.
