November 7 (SeeNews) - A total of 76 foreign cruise ships made 519 journeys to Croatian seaports in the first nine months of this year, rebounding from the same period of last year when only 24 cruises visited the Adriatic country on 134 journeys due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
There were some 505,976 passengers on board the cruise ships that visited Croatia in January-September 2022, up from some 137,529 in the same period of last year, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Compared to the same period of 2019, the number of journeys of foreign cruise vessels was lower by 8.5% in January-September 2022, and the number of passengers on board on those vessels was down 42.9%.
In the first nine months of this year, foreign cruise ships on journeys to Croatia visited the port of Dubrovnik 342 times, Split followed with 211 visits, Zadar with 117 ones and Hvar with 88 visits.
