BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 25 (SeeNews) – There were 423 foreign affiliates operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2016, employing a total of 63,758 people, the country's statistical office said.
Foreign affiliates made up 12.7% of the total number of enterprises with 20 and more employees in Bosnia, the office of statistics said in a statement last week.
The largest number of foreign affiliates operated in the manufacturing sector, or 46.6% of the total, followed by wholesale and retail trade with 27.9%.
In terms of the country of origin, 75.9% of foreign affiliates originated from EU member states, employing a total of 46,707 persons.
Croatia had the largest number of business units in Bosnia in 2016 - 62, followed by Austria with 51 and Slovenia with 50.
