TIRANA (Albania), July 24 (SeeNews) – The European Union delegation to Albania said on Tuesday it inaugurated the upgrade of the Morina crossing on the country's border with Kosovo.
“Travellers and traders using the border crossing between Albania and Kosovo will experience shortened queues and waiting times thanks to the EU-funded project,” the EU delegation said in a Twitter post, following the inauguration ceremony.
“Today we are not only opening a new facility at the border crossing point, but enhancing links between people and bringing both Albania and Kosovo a step further towards the standards of the EU,” the head of EU delegation to Albania, Romana Vlahutin, said.
The EU has invested around 1 million euro ($1.2 million) into the reconstruction of the border crossing point, the head of EU office in Kosovo, Nataliya Apostolova, said in a separate statement.
