May 15 (SeeNews) - Egypt is interested in the launch of direct flights from Cairo to Belgrade, the Serbian infrastructure ministry has said, quoting the Egyptian ambassador to Serbia, Amr Aljowaily.
With the number of Serbian tourists visiting Egypt on the rise, a direct Cairo-Belgrade flight needs to be launched, Aljowaily has said, accoridng to a pres release issued by the infrastructure ministry on Monday.
During a meeting with Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic, Aljowaily also discussed potential cooperation between Serbia and Egypt in the field of water transport, mainly in the tourist sector, the ministry said.
In February, the English-language monthly magazine Egypt Today said the number of Serbian tourists visiting the African country rose by 140% in 2017.
