August 6 (SeeNews) - The European Commission has approved additional assistance of 220 million kuna ($34.6 million/29.3 million euro) for Croatian stockbreeders, the country's ministry of agriculture said.
On August 3, the European Commission approved final adjustments to the programme for rural development that envisage the granting of fresh assistance of 130 million kuna assistance under the Animal welfare measure,” the ministry said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.
A further 90 million kuna in fresh assistance was approved for the use of manure on fields.
Along with the regular support measures, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic the ministry has provided a number of support programmes to different agricultural sectors, including stockbreeding, with a total value of almost 450 million kuna.
It is drafting programmes to help poultry farming and milk-oriented cattle farming.
