March 8 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it considers providing a senior loan of up to 3 million euro ($3.3 million) to Bosnia and Herzegovina's Sparkasse Leasing to support investments in local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The loan proceeds will be used to provide leases to help finance capex investments in SMEs that will assist in improving the competitiveness and compliance with technical standards in line with the EU directives and other internationally recognised standards, the EBRD said in a project summary document on Thursday.
At least 70% of the investments will be used for green projects.
The loan would be provided to Sparkasse Leasing under the EBRD's FIF- Sustainable Reboot SME programme.
Sarajevo-based Sparkasse Leasing provides finance and operating leases for a full suite of assets ranging from passenger cars to commercial vehicles and equipment.
