March 15 (SeeNews) - German automotive components maker Draxlmaier considers building a factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina's municipality of Ilijas, the municipal government said.
The plant would spread over an area of 15,000 sq m and employ about 2,000 staff, the municipality of Ilijas said in a press release on Tuesday.
Draxlmaier expects to have a final decision on the potential investment within six months, the press release read.
The municipality added it will cover the costs for the construction of the road and utility infrastructure around the factory.
Draxlmaier, founded in 1958, currently has more than 65 factories in 20 countries and a staff of 75,000. Elsewhere in Southeastern Europe (SEE), the company is present in Moldova, Romania, Serbia and North Macedonia.
Ilijas is located in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Serb Republic.
