April 19 (SeeNews) - Serbia's prime minister Ana Brnabic has said Czech industrial group CSG plans to start production activities in Krusevac, central Serbia, in the next two months.
CSG has signed labour contracts with 206 employees so far and has received all licenses needed to start production activities, receiving the full support of the Serbian authorities, Brnabic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Wednesday.
In October, CSG said it plans to acquire Serbian insolvent construction and agricultural machinery manufacturer IMK 14. Oktobar for an undisclosed sum.
"The relaunch of production activities of IMK 14. Oktobar is important for the growth of the country's gross domestic product," Brnabic said in the video file.
The task will be difficult because there have been practically no production activities by IMK 14. Oktobar in the last two years, the director of the Serbian company, Vojislav Sparavalo, said back in October.
CSG, holding a majority stake in Czech truck manufacturer Tatra, has some 6,000 employees in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia.
