February 8 (SeeNews) - Croatian port operator Luka Rijeka [ZSE:LKRI-R-A] said on Wednesday it is seeking 39.9 million euro ($42.5 million) under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to finance upgrades to port infrastructure.
Luka Rijeka and its authority Lucka uprava Rijeka have lodged two projects with the European Commission with the aim to modernise port infrastructure, Luka Rijeka said in a filing to the Zagreb bourse.
The first project is worth 33.8 million euro and includes the reconstruction and upgrades to infrastructure at Rijeka port's basin, while the second is valued at 6.1 million euro and includes similar works at Bakar port's basin.
CEF funding is expected to cover 85% of the costs of ;foe,krsation works.
Rijeka, situated in the northern part of the Kvarner Bay, is the largest seaport in Croatia.
Lucka uprava Rijeka manages and plans the strategic development of Luka Rijeka.
