December 7 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell by 49.6% on the year to 41,758 vehicles in the first eleven months of 2009, local market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
Germany's Opel was the best-selling brand in the country of 4.4 million people with 4,576 cars sold through November, down from 9,746 a year ago, Promocija Plus said in a statement sent to SeeNews.
Germany's Volkswagen was the runner-up with 4,022 cars sold through November versus 7,682 a year ago. France's Renault ranked third with 3,762 sold cars compared to 7,783 in the first eleven months of 2008.
The best-selling models in Croatia in first eleven months of 2009 were Opel Astra with 2,837 sold units, Volkswagen Golf with 1,598 and Renault Clio with 1,505.
