January 28 (SeeNews) - Croatia's southern town of Imotski has signed a contract for an EU grant of some 162 million kuna it will use to co-finance a 289 million kuna ($43 million/39 million euro) water supply and wastewater project, the environment ministry said.
The contract was signed on January 27, with the remainder of the project financing to come from the environment ministry, state-owned water supply company Hrvatske Vode, the town of Imotski and the Prolozac municipality, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The project includes building and revamping 36 kilometres of public water supply network in Imotski and the Prolozac municipality, building one new water reservoir and renovating the Opacac pumping station.
Once implemented, the project will reduce water losses to 40% from current 81%, and improve the water supply services provided to some 3,000 consumers.
