October 11 (SeeNews) - Croatia will provide a further 5.0 million euro ($5.3 million) to support demining in Ukraine, Croatian prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Wednesday.
“We, just like Ukraine, were victims of aggression, and the consequences of minefileds have been felt for decades,” Plenkovic said during an international donor conference on demining in Ukraine held in Zagreb.
So far, Croatia has provided 5.0 million euro for the demining process in Ukraine, Plenkovic sais, adding that the Adriatic country will assist the process with Croatian equipment and expertise.
Plenkovic also said that the demining process in Croatia is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026. Croatia fought a war of independence from the former Yugoslav federation during 1991-1995.
