- Five candidates have shown interest in taking part in a capital increase at Croatia's Institute of Immunology, sources close to the institute said. These are the AZ mandatory pension fund, the AZ voluntary pension fund, law firm Uskokovic&partners from Varazdin, which appears to represent investors who wished to remain anonymous for the moment, a Hamburg-based company, and an unnamed U.S investor.

- Experts consider as overly optimistic the forecast for a drop of 5.0% in Croatia's gross domestic product (GDP) this year, and for a 0.5% growth next year, a 3.0% growth in 2011 and a 3.5% GDP increase in 2012. They actually believe GDP will suffer a steeper decline this year. Central bank governor Zeljko Rohatinski has projected a 5.5% contraction in 2009, which is considered by most economists as moderately optimistic.
