- Dun&Bradstreet kept Croatia’s rating at DB3d, which puts the Adriatic country in the group of countries with a mild business risk. Slovenia still has the highest rating in the region (DB2c).
- After the United States and the United Kingdom, Microsoft’s International Institute for Software Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship has recently opened its third centre in the Croatian town of Varazdin, the first outside the English-speaking world. The Institute’s main aim is to promote, in co-operation with the local community, economic growth based on the software industry by increasing employees' capacities and business skills and by providing access to information and enabling the exchange of best practices on a global level.

- Croatian ferry boat operator Jadrolinija posted a loss of 90.59 million kuna in the first half of the year, compared to 119.2 million kuna loss in the same period of 2008.
- Newly established Croatian company Trillenium will open next month its first online 3D trade center. For now only Croatian citizens will be able to use its services. The project is worth 1.0 million euro.
