- In August this year, Croatian capital Zagreb recorded a 1.7% increase in tourists while overnights were 0.6% higher compared to the same period last year. The number of tourists and overnights was down by an annual 8.6% and 9.5%, respectively, through August, the City’s Strategic Planning and Development Office reported.
- A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived on a five-day visit to Croatia. The IMF officials met with representatives of the Croatian central bank to assess the current economic conditions and look at the 2010 budget. The IMF experts also reviewed the decisions made by the central bank aimed at preserving the stability of the banking system during the crisis.

- The trade union at Croatian daily Vecernji List has notified the company’s management it will stage a strike at the end of October over job cuts at the publication.
