- According to the latest data posted by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the downtrend in Croatia’s trade activity that started in October last year continued in September 2009. Croatia imported goods worth 1.3 billion euro, down 30% year-on-year, while exports totalled 669 million, down 24.4% on the year.
- In the first nine months of the year, construction company Industrogradnja recorded a net profit of 3.98 million kuna, sharply down compared with the same period last year, when net profit was 60.87 million kuna.
- The Zagreb-based Institute of Economics has forecast a 5.5% drop in the country's gross domestic product in 2009 with a 0.4% growth next year.
