June 27 (SeeNews) - The Croatian agriculture ministry on Tuesday said it detected an outbreak of African swine fever, the first case of the disease on record in the country, in two pig farms in Posavski Podgajci, in eastern Croatia.
“Overall, some ten locations are suspicious, along with the two confirmed cases,” Mladen Pavic, state secretary with the ministry, said in a statement on the government’s website.
Urgent measures to control to decease, including a ban to transport and sell pigs, have been introduced.
One case of African swine fever was reported in neighbouring Bosnia on Thursday, according to Croatian media.
