ZAGREB (Croatia), July 30 (SeeNews) – State-controlled flag carrier Croatia Airlines [ZSE: CRAL] said on Friday it pared its net loss by 15% year-on-year in the first half of 2021, to 147.4 million kuna ($23.4 million/19.6 million euro).
In the first half of this year, Croatia Airlines' business was again hampered by the pandemic which led to significant drop in demand for air transportation services, the company said in a statement.
Croatia Airlines carried 208,657 passengers in the first six months of 2021, down 37% on the year.
The number of passengers on domestic regular flights declined 15% to 71,367, passengers on regular international flights decreased by 46% to 131,181, while the number of passengers on charter flights rose 8% on the year to 6,109.
Passenger load factor decreased to 45.3%, down 13.4 percentage points compared to the first six months of 2020.
The company operates a fleet of 13 aircraft, which directly connect the capital Zagreb to 14 European destinations and five domestic airports.
