SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Smolyan municipality said that a tender it has called for the construction of a border crossing with Greece has been suspended following a complaint filed with the competition regulator by local company R and D Auto-Stroy.

The complaint was filed on June 8 and requests suspension of the tender until the regulator comes up with a decision, Smolyan municipality said on Monday.

The tender procedure will be resumed either when the regulator decides to reject the suspension request, or, if it grants the request, when a final decision on the complaint is issued.

The tender for construction of the Rudozem-Xanthi border crossing was launched on May 23 and has an indicative value of 14.5 million levs ($8.7 million/7.4 million euro). The project will be financed under Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020.
