SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 25 (SeeNews) – China's TEPC Overseas Engineering Company and Bosnian construction material supplier Lager are set to sign a deal on the construction of Kamengrad thermal power plant (TPP) in Bosnia's Sanski Most valued at 1.02 billion marka ($613.5 million/521.5 million euro), Bosnia's foreign investment promotion agency, FIPA, said.
The agreement on the construction of the TPP, which will have two units with a planned capacity of 215 MW each, will be signed in November, on the sidelines of the China-Central Eastern European Summit of Leaders in Budapest, the agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The implementation of this strategic project will greatly contribute to the economic development of Bosnia and its local communities, and will have a major impact on employment," FIPA said.
Coal reserves at Kamengrad mine, a town within the Sanski Most county, are estimated at 420 million tonnes.
Sanski Most is located in the northwestern part of the Federation, one of Bosnia's twp autonomous entities. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
