August 13 (SeeNews) - China's state-owned Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) is expected to submit an offer for the construction of a bypass road in Serbia's Novi Sad in September or October, mayor Milos Vucevic has said.
"We will have a general design of the bridge by the end of August, and our working group, which includes representatives of the city, the Faculty of Technical Sciences and private companies active in transport and urban solutions, will submit a timeframe to SDHS to present our vision of those dates," Vucevic said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project will include the construction of a fourth bridge over the Danube in Novi Sad and is of national importance, Vucevic said during a meeting with the general manager of the Serbian unit of SDHS, Zhang Jianchao.
In June, SDHS started the construction of a high-speed road linking Valjevo to Milos Veliki motorway, part of European transport Corridor XI on the territory of Serbia. The 18.3 km high-speed road will include bridges with a total length of 2.5 km.
