January 4 (SeeNews) - The number of bank card payments in North Macedonia increased by 8.5% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2022, the central bank said.
The value of completed card payments also rose, by 14.9%, the National Bank of North Macedonia (NBRM) said in a statement on Tuesday.
In the third quarter of 2022, an annual increase of 5.2% was recorded in the number of electronic payments, while a decrease of 12.5% was registered in the number of transactions concluded at bank counters, the NBRM said.
When making electronic payments, 54.7% of bank clients used mobile applications in the third quarter of last year, or 19.6% more than in the comparable period of 2021.
