October 25 (SeeNews) - Canadian automotive company Litens on Tuesday opened a factory in western Romania, where it plans to employ 250 by the end of 2019.
The 7,500 sq m factory is located in Giarmata village, in Timis county, and will initially employ 30 people, Litens said in a press release on Wednesday. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

Until 2019, the number of employees will increase to 250, as the factory will take on new original equipment production projects.
In the first two years of activity, the factory will manufacture only aftermarket auto parts.
"We are very excited about our new location, which is strategically placed, and will help increase our production capacity for the European market and will enables us to improve customer support. Our portfolio development team is working to identify and develop relations with new suppliers in Eastern Europe, which will add to business value," Litens Automotive Group CEO Paul Robinson said.
Founded in 1979, Litens is specialized in powertrain system engineering and component supply.
With over 2,000 employees around the world, Litens is currently active in Canada, Germany, Brazil, China, Japan, India, the UK, France, Italy and South Korea.
